BY PURCHASING A TICKET TO CAPITAL BEARS – BEAR NECESSITIES YOU AGREE TO THE FOLLOWING CODE OF CONDUCT AND LIST OF POLICIES

(1) You must be 21 years of age at the time of the event. (2) You will conduct yourself in a reasonable manner in the public areas of the hosting facilities. More specifically, this includes: (a) no public sex, (b) no public nudity, (c) complete coverage of genitals and butt crack (i.e, no jock straps or similar items in public areas), (c) no public advertising for sex, (d) no unwelcome or unruly sexual advances during Bear Necessities, (e) no public urinating or defecating, (f) only respectable public displays of affection, (g) controlled public intoxication (seek assistance if necessary), and (h) no abusive verbal and/or physical confrontations. (3) You agree not to hold Capital Bears of Des Moines, Iowa, its officers, membership, guests, sponsors, or any commercial establishment used in conjunction with this event responsible for any loss or injury to either your property or your person while participating in this event. (4) You are fully responsible for any damages you may cause to the hotel property, private venues, or commercial establishments used during this event. (5) You are fully responsible for any non-Bear Necessities attendee guests that you allow into the hotel property, including any damages caused to the property. (6) You will not post any advertisements, photos, or any other written or pictorial matter in the halls or on the doors of the private guest sections in the hotel. (7) You will not use any controlled substances (excluding medicine prescribed to you personally) during any Capital Bear activities or volunteer shifts. (8) You will not indulge in actions that are discriminatory or racist. (9) You will grant the Capital Bears of Des Moines, Iowa, and anyone designated by such, the right to use your likeness, image, voice and appearance whether recorded on or transferred to videotape, film, slides, photographs, or other media, for publication, broadcast or use on the web. (10) You will assist the Captial Bear’s Bear Necessities Planning Committee by immediately reporting any witnessed violations to this code while keeping yourself from becoming part of the situation and allowing the hotel and/or security staff and/or Capital Bears Officers or Capital Bear - Bear Necessities Chair to handle the situation. 

Waiver of Liability:

In consideration of acceptance of my participation, I hereby, for myself, my heirs, executors and administrators, waive any and all rights and claims for damages I may now or hereafter have against individuals associated with this program and events(s), their agencies, representatives, successors and assigns for any and all injuries suffered by me in said program event. Further, if I sustain an injury or become ill while on the premises of, or while engaged in an activity associated with Capital Bears, I do hereby give my permission and/or consent to the personnel of Capital Bears of Des Moines, Iowa to secure and authorize such emergency medical, dental, and/or other treatment as I require.
